In particular, they wanted to focus on their homes’ green credentials and clearly explain their sustainability technologies.

Green tech messaging examples

Solar panels (sometimes called PV panels) create free electricity for your home, 365 days a year. That’s good for the environment – and your wallet. And if your panels create more energy than you need? You can simply sell it back to the grid so that someone else can use it.

‘Wastewater heat recovery’ is a clever piece of technology that saves energy (and money) when showering. How? It does this by extracting the heat energy of your drained shower water, then using this to warm up the incoming supply of water. This then makes it easier for your boiler or heat pump to get your shower up to temperature.

Heat pumps do the same job as a boiler – but by using air, not gas. They’re cleaner, greener and at least 3x more energy efficient. Plus, they have a longer lifespan and only need servicing every 1–3 years. You can even connect them to your solar panels, reducing your reliance on the grid.

A well-insulated home eases the pressure on your boiler or heat pump, which helps lower your energy bills. That’s why all of our new homes have excellent levels of insulation in the floors, walls and roofs – keeping you snug in the colder months and cool in the warmer ones.
